The Syracuse Orange will take on the Florida State Seminoles Wednesday afternoon in round two of the ACC tournament in Brooklyn NY. Syracuse comes into round two struggling riding a four game losing streak after a 3 point loss to Miami ended their season. Defensively Syracuse struggled in the final game of the season as Miami shot 51.8% from the floor to score 75 points in the game including 49 in the second half to erase an 11 point halftime Syracuse lead.
Offensively Buddy Boeheim carried the Syracuse offense posting a team high 30 points on eight of 17 shooting in 40 minutes on the floor. Joseph Girard III added 17 points and five assists come a while Jimmy Boeheim chipped in as the third player in double figures with 14 points in 40 minutes of action.
The Florida State Seminoles come into the conference tournament playing their best basketball of the season riding a three game win streak to end the year. Offensively Florida State was dominant in the final game of the year shooting 51.6% from the floor as they scored 89 points in a win over North Carolina State.
The Florida State offense has been mediocre at best this year averaging 71.5 points per game on 43.8% shooting. Caleb Mills leads the Florida State offense as one of four players averaging double figures scoring 13 points per game on 44.4% shooting. Matthew Cleveland is second on the team scoring 11.4 points and Anthony Polite adds in a 3rd best 10 points and a team high 5.6 rebounds.
