The Stanford Cardinal visit Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, California on Thursday to play the UCLA Bruins in Pac-12 action. The Cardinal improved to 7-5 on the season following a 93-86 win over Long Beach State on Saturday. Stanford was led by Josh Sharma who posted a double-double with 23 points and 18 rebounds.
UCLA lost its last outing to Liberty on Saturday 73-58 on its home court. Shortly after the game, UCLA fired head coach Steve Alford. Kris Wilkes led the Bruins in the loss with 14 points, while freshman Moses Brown scored 11. UCLA has lost four straight by an average of 15 points. Murray Bartow has been given the interim head coach position for the Bruins for the remainder of the season.
KZ Okpala leads Stanford in scoring and in rebounding with averages of 16.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Daejon Davis leads the Cardinal in assists with an average of 3.8 per game. Stanford is shooting 44.4% from the field and 32.8% from 3-point territory.
Kris Wilkes leads the Bruins in scoring with an average of 17.5 points per game. Freshman Moses Brown is tied for second in scoring and is first in rebounding with averages of 11.5 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. The leader in assists is Jaylen Hands with an average of 7.0 per game. UCLA is shooting 45.1% from the field and 33.4% from 3-point territory.
