South Dakota State vs Tulane 11/19/18 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

South Dakota State returns a lot of firepower off its team from last year that went 28-7 and reached the NCAA tournament. The Jackrabbits are looking for even more this year and are off to a 3-1 start after losing its last game. The Jackrabbits take on Tulane on Monday, a team that does not have as big of expectations but looks improved over last year. Tulane was 14-17 after losing 11 of its last 13 games.

South Dakota returns Mike Daum, a senior who averaged 23.9 points and 10 rebounds. Even more remarkable perhaps, is that this 6-9 forward shoots 43 percent from behind the arc. Also returning is Tevin King and Skyler Flatten, guards who can also shoot the lights out on a given night. David Jenkins is also a returning guard, who averaged 16 points past year. Flatten hit 49 percent of his three-pointers last year. So far it has gone as expected. Daum is averaging 21.9 points and 10.8 rebounds. Jenkins is averaging 20 and is shooting 48 percent on three-pointers. But even with those sharpshooters, the team is shooting 33 percent from behind the arc.

Tulane lost its best player from last year to the NBA, but has three returning starters who played well last year. There are also some highly rated newcomers that could make Tulane better this year. Sami Sehic leads Tulane with 17 points and eight rebounds per game. Kevin Zhang is averaging 14.5. Celeb Daniels and Jordan Cornish are both averaging 13.

This Tulane team is in middle of rebuild but do like the young talent on this Green Wave team. The Jackrabbits have been the NCAA Tournament darling the last few seasons and South Dakota State is very good again this season. Final Score Prediction, South Dakota State Jackrabbits win and cover ATS 75-71.
