The Seton Hall Pirates visit Cintas Center in Cincinnati, Ohio on Wednesday to play the Xavier Musketeers. The Pirates improved to 10-3 on the season with 76-74 win over the St. John’s Red Storm on Saturday to open their Big East schedule. Mike Nzei led the Pirates with a double-double, while Shavar Reynolds made a 3-pointer as the buzzer sounded to give Seton Hall the win.
Xavier opened its defense of the Big East title with a 74-65 win on the road at DePaul. The Musketeers were led by Naji Marshall with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Xavier has won two straight to move to 9-5 on the season.
Myles Powell leads Seton Hall in scoring with an average of 22.5 points per game. Michael Nzei is the second leading scorer and second in rebounding with averages of 10.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Sandro Mamukelashvili leads the team in rebounding with an average of 7.8 per game. Seton Hall is shooting 45.1% from the field and 32.4% from 3-point territory.
Quentin Goodin is the leading scorer and leads in assists with averages of 13.7 points and 5.7 assists per game for Xavier. Naji Marshall is the second leading scorer and leading rebounder with averages of 13.0 points and 8.1 rebound per game. Xavier is shooting 48.5% from the field and 34.1% from 3-point territory.
