The final game of the Big East Conference tournament will pit the Seton Hall Pirates against the UConn Huskies. The Pirates (21-9) are riding a six-game winning streak and are allowing a shade below 67 points per contest. Last night, Seton Hall scored the final five points of the game to escape with a 57-53 victory versus Georgetown.
Seton Hall G/F Jared Rhoden led all scorers with 17 points on 6-for-13 shooting and pulled down four boards. Myles Cale added 14 points and five rebounds for the Pirates.
The UConn Huskies finished seven games above .500 in conference play and are arguably the most talented team in the field. Last time out, UConn jumped out to an 11-point lead at halftime and were never seriously challenged during a 75-68 home victory versus DePaul. The 18th ranked Huskies (22-8) dominated the Blue Demons on the glass by a 49-31 margin and shot 45 percent from the field.
UConn F Adama Sanogo tallied a game-high 26 points on 10-for-16 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds. Tyrese Martin contributed 19 points and 16 rebounds for the Huskies.
