The Seton Hall Pirates visit Firserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Saturday to play the No. 21 ranked Marquette Golden Eagles. Seton Hall improved to 12-4 on the season following its 76-75 win over Butler. The Pirates were led by Myles Powell with 31 points. Powell made 13 of 15 from the charity stripe, including a pair with just three seconds remaining to preserve the win.
Marquette improved to 13-3 on the season following a 106-104 overtime win against Creighton. Markus Howard scored 53 points, including 14 in overtime to help lead the Golden Eagles to the win. Sam Hauser sent the game to OT for Marquette with a deep 3-pointer as time ran out in regulation. Howard’s 53 points set a new Big East scoring record.
Myles Powell leads Seton Hall in scoring with an average of 22.8 points per game. Michael Nzei is the third leading scorer and second in rebounding with averages of 9.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Sandro Mamukelashvili leads the team in rebounding with an average of 7.4 per game. Seton Hall is shooting 45.7% from the field and 31.8% from 3-point territory.
Markus Howard leads Marquette in scoring and assists with averages of 25.8 points and 4.3 assists per game. Sam Hauser is the second leading scorer and leading rebounder with averages of 13.4 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. The Golden Eagles are shooting 46.1% from the field and 39.2% from 3-point territory.
