The Savannah State Tigers visit Kohl Center in Madison, Wisconsin on Thursday to play the Wisconsin Badgers. Savannah State fell to 3-8 on the season with a 139-72 loss to South Dakota State. The Tigers allowed 90 points by the Jackrabbits during the first half. Jaquan Dotson led the Tigers in the loss with 17 points. The Tigers trailed by 57 points after just the first half.
Wisconsin was defeated by Marquette 74-69 in overtime on Saturday. The Badgers were led in the loss by Ethan Happ with 34 points. Happ led the Badgers in rebounds with 11. Happ controlled the paint in the Wisconsin offensive end, but Wisconsin could not score from outside hitting just 1 of 12 first half 3-pointers. D’Mitrik Trice scored 10 for Wisconsin but hit just 1 of 6 from downtown.
Jaquan Dotson leads Savannah State in scoring and rebounding with averages of 12.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Zach Sellers is the second leading scorer and leader in assists with averages of 10.8 points and 4.5 assists per game. Savannah State is shooting 36.3% from the field and 28.3% from 3-point territory.
Ethan Happ leads Wisconsin in scoring, rebounding and assists with averages of 19.3 points, 10.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. D’Mitrik Trice is the only other player averaging double figures in scoring with an average of 16.3 points. Wisconsin is shooting 48.7% from the field and 38.9% from 3-point territory.
