San Francisco at Towson 11/25/21 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

The San Fransisco Dons will hope to keep the hot start rolling when they meet up with the Townson Tigers in the Las Vegas Invitational at Orleans Arena. San Fransisco has rattled off five straight wins by an average of 16 points, topped off with a home win over Morgan State winning 83-67 to improve to 5-0 on the year. Towson has had an up and down year and crawled back over .500 with a 76-61 win over Penn.

San Fransisco has been ultra-impressive in the young season and is scoring 81.3 points per game ranking 58th in scoring offense. The Dons’ have shot 49.6% from the field and 37.1% from beyond the arc, ranking 40th and 86th in the nation. San Fransisco has made 11 threes per game which is the 20th most in the nation, and senior guard Jamaree Bouyea has led the way with 19.2 points and is shooting 38.5% from beyond the arc.

San Fransisco has also been solid on the defensive end allowing 65.3 points per game and ranks 124th in the country in scoring defense. They’ve limited opposing teams' perimeter shots well with teams shooting just 28.8% from beyond the arc, but have had some issues defining the paint as opponents shoot 41.8% from the field. The Dons are 51st in average defensive possession length and 39th in KenPom adjusted defense.

Towson has been one of the slower-paced offenses in the country and is scoring 72.2 points per game ranking 193rd in the country in scoring offense. The Tigers are one of the worst three-point shooting teams in the nation at just 27.5% from beyond the arc and have shot 41.5% from the field. Junior Cam Holden has been dominant averaging a double-double with 17.6 points and 11.6 rebounds per contest.

The Tiger's slow pace has helped their defense allowing 62.6 points per game ranking 87th in scoring defense. They’ve allowed just 49.8 opposing shots per game, the ninth least in the country, and teams have shot just 40.2% from the field. Townson has defended the perimeter well and is 81st in three-point defense, but ranks 226th in KenPom adjusted defense.

San Fransisco is rolling right now and there isn’t a reason to see that change against a struggling Towson defense. Towson will try to slow the tempo but San Fransisco also excels at a slow tempo and their offensive efficiency is enough to overcome the slower tempo. The Dons’ defense limits Towson to one shot, defend the perimeter well, and behind an experienced team control the game and get the win on the road. Final score prediction, San Fransisco wins and covers ATS 77-60.
