The San Diego Aztecs will make their way to Logan, where they will face the Utah Aggies. San Diego  just ranked number 25 on the updated AP top 25, down 3 spots from where they previously ranked. The Aztecs are currently 18-5 this season, coming off of a bounce-back win against the Boise St. Broncos 72-52. In this win, the Aztecs were fuelled by Nathan Mensah's team-high 17 points and 6 rebounds. Prior to defeating the Broncos, San Diego suffered just their second loss in thirteen games to Nevada.

When this Aztecs team has been locked in defensively, the Aztecs have been unstoppable this season. Every once in a while their defence slips up, causing them to lose or make an easy win difficult. Specifically the Aztecs are tremendous at defending the three point shot, this will come in handy when facing the number 1 three point shooting team in the country. San Diego has been a defensive-minded team, on offense it's more of a score by committee situation.

Utah State has won 3 straight games coming into Wednesday, their most recent loss was to this same Aztecs team. Going back two weeks ago when these two teams last played, Adam Seiko's 25 points and 7 three pointers led the Aztecs to win 85-75. The Aggies now sit in second place behind the Aztecs in the Mountain West, with a record of 19-5.

The Aggies offense is generating over 80 points per game, led by the nation leading 41.8% from three. Steven Ashworth is arguably the best shooter in the NCAA right now, shooting 47.5% from three on over 7 attempts per game. Ashworth has been the primary source of offense for the Aggies, leading the team averaging 16 points and 4.5 assists. Defensively the Aggies have not been spectacular, particularly defending the three pointer, which by the way, the Aztecs can also get very hot from long range.
