Richmond at VCU 1/28/20 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

On Tuesday, the Richmond Spiders visit Stuart C. Siegel Center in Richmond, Virginia to play the VCU Rams. Richmond  is 15-5 overall and 5-2 in the Atlantic 10 Conference following its 87-79 loss on Saturday to the Dayton Flyers. Richmond was outscored 16-2 during the first half and 12-0 in the second half and could not bounce back from from those two double-digit runs and came up eight points short.

Jacob Gilyard is leading Richmond in scoring and assists with averages of 14.8 points and 5.4 assists per game, while Grant Golden is the leading rebounder with an average of 7.0 per game. Richmond has four players averaging double-figures in scoring.

VCU approved to 15-5 overall and 5-2 in the Atlantic 10 following its 76-65 victory on Saturday over the La Salle Explorers. Marcos Santos-Silva led VCU with 16 points and nine rebounds. With the victory, VCU moved to within two games of first-place Dayton and one game behind second-place Rhode Island in the A-10 standings.

Marcus Santos-Silva is the leading scorer and rebounder for VCU with averages of 13.2 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. Marcus Evans is the leader in assists for VCU with an average of 2.8 per game. De’riante Jenkins is the second leading scorer for the Rams with an average of 10.6 points per game. VCU has three players averaging double-figures in scoring. 

Richmond is coming off a tough loss to Dayton on Saturday but had won each of its three games prior to that loss and over that 4-game span was 3-1 ATS. The Spiders have defeated Rhode Island, Davidson, George Mason, and LaSalle while VCU has won three straight but prior to that lost to both Dayton and Rhode Island.
