The Quinnipiac Bobcats are set to visit Pizzitola Sports Center in Providence, Rhode Island for a non-conference clash against the Brown Bears. The Quinnipiac Bobcats will be looking to continue their success from the 2018-2019 season as they went 16-15 with a 2nd place finish in the MAAC. The Bobcats will have to replace their leading scorer from a season ago as Cameron Young (23.5 PPG, 5.1 RPG) graduated. Quinnipiac will return a couple of key pieces this year as Rich Kelly (13.2 PPG, 4.5 APG) and Jacob Rigoni (10.3 PPG) return to the starting lineup.

The Quinnipiac Bobcats were a solid scoring team during the 2018-2019 season as they scored an average 74 PPG which ranked 126th in the country. The Quinnipiac Bobcats struggled on the defensive side of the court a season ago as they allowed their opponents to score an average of 72.7 PPG which ranked 213th in the country.

The Brown Bears come into this matchup with a 2-0 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the Canisius Golden Griffins, 75-68. Leading the way for the Brown Bears was senior guard Brandon Anderson as he recorded 32 points and 5 rebounds. Joining Anderson in the backcourt was senior guard Zach Hunsaker and he had a productive game as he pitched in 15 points and 4 rebounds.

The Brown Bears struggled shooting the ball against the Canisius Golden Griffins as they connected on 23 of their 54 field goal attempts (42.6%), and they were slightly worse from behind the three-point line (33.3%). The Brown Bears won the turnover battle against the Canisius Golden Griffins (22-20), and they edged out the Golden Griffins in the rebounding department (35-34).

The Quinnipiac Bobcats are one of the only teams in college basketball to yet play a game while the Brown Bears already have 2 solid wins under their belts. The Brown Bears have received a hot start out of senior guard Brandon Anderson as he is averaging 27.5 PPG, but they also have a key piece in the frontcourt with forward Tamenang Choh as he is averaging a double-double with 15 PPG and 11.5 RPG. Quinnipiac also has to replace their star guard from a season ago as Cameron Young (23.5 PPG, 5.1 RPG), and I tend to fade teams that need to replace that type of production in the season opener. Brown has knocked any rust they had off, and they will show that with a big win at home. Final Score Prediction, Brown Bears win and cover ATS 76-68.
