Purdue Fort Wayne vs Drake 3/19/22 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

The CBI Tournament will tip-off on Saturday afternoon with a matchup between the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons and the Drake Bulldogs. The Mastodons (21-11) finished tied with Cleveland State for first place in the Horizon League and averaged 73.7 points per game. In the league tournament semifinals, Purdue Fort Wayne shot an icy cold 29 percent from the field during a 57-43 loss against Northern Kentucky.

Purdue Fort Wayne G Jarred Godfrey missed 13 of his 16 field goal attempts and finished with a team-high 11 points. Ra Kpedu added nine points and seven rebounds for the Mastodons.

The Drake Bulldogs finished in a three-way tie for second place in the Missouri Valley Conference with a 13-5 record and are allowed 66.2 points per contest.  In the conference tournament final, Drake was unable to make the plays down the stretch of a 64-58 loss against Loyola-Chicago. The Bulldogs (24-10) missed 15 of their 20 three-point attempts and shot just 36 percent overall.

Drake G Roman Penn matched a game-high with 18 points on 6-for-16 from the field. Tucker Devries added 15 points and eight rebounds for the Bulldogs.

Purdue Fort Wayne has won nine of their last ten games and have covered seven times during that stretch. Drake had their sights set on an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and will find it difficult to get up for this game. Take the points. Final Score Prediction, Drake Bulldogs win 72-67.
