The No. 17 ranked Purdue Boilermakers visit Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, Pennsylvania on Thursday to play the Penn State Nittany Lions. The Boilermakers improved to 14-6 on the season following a 73-63 upset win over Michigan State on Sunday. Purdue was led in the win by Ryan Cline with 17 points and the Boilermakers were able to hold off a late charge by the Spartans.
Penn State fell to 7-13 on the season following its 64-60 loss to Rutgers on Saturday. The Nittany Lions were within one point of the Scarlet Knights with over two minutes to play but could get no closer the rest of the way. Lamar Stevens led Penn State in the loss with 21 points.
Carsen Edwards leads Purdue in scoring with an average of 24.2 points per game. Grady Eifert is the leading rebounder with an average of 5.0 per game, while Ryan Cline leads the team in assists with an average of 3.3 per game. Purdue is shooting 45.1% from the field and 38.0% from 3-point territory.
Lamar Stevens leads Penn State in scoring and rebounding with averages of 18.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Josh Reaves is third in scoring and is the leader in assists with averages of 10.1 points and 3.6 assists per game. Penn State is shooting 41.0% from the field and 31.3% from 3-point territory.
