Presbyterian vs Montana Picks and Prediction – 3/24/2024

The Presbyterian Blue Hose will be in Daytona Beach this weekend for a first round matchup against the Montana Grizzlies. Presbyterian finished the regular season four games below .500 having lost three of the last five following a one point loss to Gardner Webb in the final game of the season. The Presbyterian offense was terrible in the final game of the year scoring just 60 points on 39.3% shooting. The Blue Hose did win the rebounding battle but turned the ball over 13 times and the loss. Defensively Presbyterian was outmatched giving up 61 points including 34 in the second half to blow a first half lead on 43.1% shooting from the floor. Marquis Barnett leads Presbyterian this season averaging 14.5 points per game. Samage Teel chips in 13.2 points as the only other player in double figures to go along with a team high 2.7 assists. Kobe Stewart averages 8.1 points and Jonah Pierce adds in 7.2 points and a team leading 4.9 rebounds.

The Montana Grizzlies come into the CBI having won 23 games this year following a 15 point loss to Montana State in the final game of the regular season to end a long winning streak. Montana has been a strong offensive team this season scoring more than 77 points per game on 48.5% shooting good enough for 81st in the country. Defensively the Grizzlies have done the work as well allowing just 71.5 points per game resulting in their stellar record overall.

Aanen Moody has carried the Montana offense this season scoring almost 17 points per game overall. Money Williams averaged 13.4 points in Dischon Thomas chips in 12.1 points per game. Brandon Whitney is averaging 10.8 points as the 4th player in double figures to go along with the team high 4.3 assist.
