The Portland Pilots are set to visit the Marriott Center in Provo, Utah for a WCC clash against the BYU Cougars. The Portland Pilots come into this matchup with a 6-7 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent road game against the Pepperdine Waves, 80-65. Leading the way for the Portland Pilots was junior forward Eddie Davis as he recorded 19 points and 8 rebounds. Junior guard Latrell Jones had a productive outing for the Pilots as he pitched in 15 points and 6 rebounds.

The Portland Pilots struggled shooting the ball against the Pepperdine Waves as they connected on 23 of their 56 field goal attempts (41.1%), and they were slightly worse from behind the three-point line (26.9%). The Portland Pilots were even with the Pepperdine Waves in the turnover battle (16-16), but they were dominated by the Waves in the rebounding department (44-31).

The BYU Cougars come into this matchup with a 11-3 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent road game against the San Francisco Dons, 72-63. Leading the way for the BYU Cougars was senior guard Alex Barcello as he recorded 19 points. Junior center Richard Harward had a productive outing off the bench for the Cougars as he pitched in 13 points and 11 rebounds.

The BYU Cougars had a solid shooting game against the San Francisco Dons as they connected on 26 of their 58 field goal attempts (44.8%), but they struggled from behind the three-point line (27.8%). The BYU Cougars lost the turnover battle against the San Francisco Dons (12-8), but they dominated the Dons in the rebounding department (45-28).

The BYU Cougars are finally playing like the 2nd best team in the WCC as they own consecutive wins over San Francisco and Saint Mary’s, and they will get a chance to extend their winning streak against one of the worst teams in the conference as Portland is 0-4 heading into this game. The Cougars have enjoyed the production from senior guard Alex Barcello as he is leading the team with 16.3 PPG, but they have really done their damage on the defensive side of the court as of recent as they are holding conference opponents to an average of 67 PPG which includes the high-scoring Gonzaga Bulldogs. The Portland Pilots are allowing an average of 80.4 PPG which is one of the worst marks in college basketball, and they will have a tough time here. Final Score Prediction, BYU Cougars win and cover ATS 85-60.
