On Monday, the Penn State Nittany Lions visit Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston, Illinois for a Big Ten tilt with the Northwestern Wildcats. Penn State fell to 7-14 overall following its 99-90 loss in overtime to Purdue. Lamar Stevens led the Nittany Lions in the loss with 24 points while Rasir Bolton chipped in with 18 and Myles Dread with 14.
Northwestern fell to 12-9 on the season following its 70-52 loss to Maryland on Tuesday. Anthony Gaines led the Wildcats with 18 points while Dererk Pardon chipped in with 14, and Vic Law, the Wildcats leading scorer, scored just five points or 11 below his season average.
Lamar Stevens leads Penn State in scoring and rebounding with averages of 18.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Josh Reaves is third in scoring and is the leader in assists with averages of 10.1 points and 3.6 assists per game. Penn State is shooting 41.0% from the field and 31.3% from 3-point territory.
Vic Law leads Northwestern in scoring with an average of 15.2 points per game. Two other Wildcats are averaging double figures in scoring. The leading rebounder is Dererk Pardon with an average of 7.8 rebounds per game, while the leader in assists is A.J. Turner with an average of 3.3 per game. Northwestern is shooting 42.0% from the field and 34.0% from 3-point territory.
