The Oregon State Beavers visit Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah for a Pac-12 showdown with the Utah Utes on Saturday. The Beavers improved to 13-7 on the season after a 76-74 win over Colorado on Thursday. Oregon State was led by Stephen Thompson Jr. with 21 points, while Tres Tinkle scored 19 and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Utah fell to 11-9 on the season following its 78-72 loss to Oregon on Thursday. The Utes were paced in the loss by Sedrick Barefield and Donnie Tillman with 16 points apiece. The loss snapped Utah’s four-game winning streak. While Barefield scored 16, he could only hit 4 of 16 field goals as Oregon focused on stopping the sharpshooter.
Tres Tinkle leads the Beavers in scoring, rebounds and assists with averages of 20.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. Stephen Thompson Jr. is the second leading scorer for the Beavers with an average of 16.2 points per game. Oregon State is shooting 46.9% from the field and 32.8% from 3-point territory.
Sedrick Barefield leads Utah in scoring and assists with averages of 16.1 points and 3.8 assists per game. Jayce Johnson leads Utah in rebounds with an average of 6.6 per game. Utah is shooting 47.3% from the field and 38.2% from 3-point territory.
