Two teams ranked in the top 25 meet on Wednesday when the No. 25 ranked Oklahoma Sooners visit Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas to play the No. 5 ranked Kansas Jayhawks. The Sooners improved to 11-1 on the season with a 76-69 overtime win over Northwestern. The Sooners’ Kristian Doolittle scored three consecutive baskets during overtime helping Oklahoma defeat the Wildcats.
Kansas improved to 11-1 on the season following its 87-63 win over Eastern Michigan on Saturday. Udoka Azubuike returned from an ankle injury and scored 23 points while grabbing nine rebounds to lead the Jayhawks to the win.
Christian James leads the Sooners in scoring with an average of 17.9 points per game. Brady Manek is the leader in rebounding with an average of 7.5 rebounds per game. Aaron Calixte leads the Sooners in assists with an average of 3.3 per game. The Sooners are shooting 46.1% from the field and 36.9% from 3-point territory.
Dedric Lawson leads Kansas in scoring and rebounding and is second in assists with averages of 19.6 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. Devon Dotson leads Kansas in assists with an average of 3.1 per game. Kansas is shooting 48.7% from the field and 35.7% from 3-point territory.
