Last Updated: 12/04/2021 at 10:32 PM ET

The Sunday college basketball schedule will tip-off with the Big Ten Conference opener between the Northwestern Wildcats and the Maryland Terrapins. The Wildcats (5-2) have dropped two of their last three games and rank sixth in the country in assists (19.6 apg). On Tuesday, Northwestern shot just 38 percent from the field during a 77-73 overtime loss against Wake Forest.

Pete Nance led Northwestern with 15 points (6-19 FG) to go along with seven rebounds and five assists. Boo Buie added 12 points and seven assists for the Wildcats.

The Maryland Terrapins are off to an unimpressive 5-3 non-conference start and Mark Turgeon stepped down as head coach this week. Last time out, Maryland was unable to make the plays down the stretch of a 62-58 home loss versus Virginia Tech. The Terrapins missed 12 of their 13 three-point attempts and turned the ball over 15 times in defeat.

Maryland F Qudus Wahab tallied a game-high 18 points on 7-for-8 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds. Donta Scott added 11 points and seven rebounds in a losing effort for the Terrapins.

Former All-American Danny Manning will take over as head coach for Maryland and is in a tough spot. Northwestern is averaging 80 plus points on the season and has more options on the offensive end of the floor. Take the Wildcats to win as a slight underdog. Final Score Prediction, Northwestern Wildcats win 70-67.
