Portland State has gotten to the semifinals of the conference tournament currently riding a two game win streak following a 12 point win over Southern Utah on Thursday. Defensively Portland State shut down Southern Utah holding the Thunderbirds to 36.8% from the floor and 12% from beyond the arc, while forcing 13 turnovers leading to the victory.
Offensively Khalid Thomas led all scorers for Portland State with twenty points on 8 of 13 shooting in 34 minutes on the floor. Michael Carter III chipped in 13 points and Isaiah Burke added ten points as the third starter in double figures. Hayden Curtiss and Mikal Starks the way for Portland State off the bench scoring nine points apiece.
Northern Colorado Bears come into the conference semifinals after a one point win over Eastern Washington on Thursday. Northern Colorado beat EWU 68-67 after shooting 37.5% of the floor about 41.9% from beyond the arc leading to the victory.
