The final game of the Big Sky Conference season is on Saturday night as the Northern Colorado Bears take on the Montana State Bobcats in the conference championship game. Northern Colorado comes into the conference champion six games over .500 riding a 2 game win streak following a seven point win over Portland State in the semifinals. Offensively Northern Colorado controlled the game making 54.2% of their shots to score 86 points in the game including 54 in the second half to erase an 8 point halftime deficit.
Daylen Kountz led all scorers for Northern Colorado with 36 points on 11-15 shooting. Kur Jongkuch Judah added 9 points and eight rebounds, while Bodie Hume scored eight points and a team high 11 rebounds. Dalton Knecht chipped in 18 by 17 points to lead the way off the bench.
The Montana State Bobcats have been the best team in this conference all season and will ride a 5 game win streak into the conference championship. Montana State beat Weber State 69-66 in the semifinals after the Bobcats shot 50% from the floor and scored 69 points in the game.
The Montana State Bobcats offense has carried the team this season averaging 76.9 points per game on 47.4% shooting from the floor. Xavier Bishop leads all scorers for Montana State averaging 13.8 points per game to go along with a team leading 4.2 assists. Jubrile Belo Is second on the team scoring 13.4 points and leads the way with 6.9 rebounds per game.
