The Big Sky championship tournament kicks off Wednesday afternoon in Boise, ID as the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks take on the Eastern Washington Eagles. Northern Arizona comes into the conference tournament tied for the worst spot overall riding a seven game losing streak following a 9 point loss to Idaho to end the regular season. Northern Arizona shot 38.3% from the floor in 21.9% from beyond the yard leading to the nine point loss to close their season.
Jalen Cone did everything he could for Northern Arizona in the last game of the season scoring 35 points on 12 and 23 shooting in 38 minutes on the floor. Keith Haymon scored 14 points as the only other player in double figures and Isaiah Lewis led the way off the bench with five points in 19 minutes.
The Eastern Washington Eagles come into the conference tournament running hot after finishing the regular season on a two game win streak. Eastern Washington pulled off an 8 point win over Portland State to end the season after shooting a smoking 49.1% from the floor. Linton Acliese and Angelo Allegri Each did their part for Eastern Washington in the final game of the year scoring 27 points each.
Offensively this season Eastern Washington has been one of the better teams in the conference everything 77.2 points per game on 45.3% shooting from the floor. Steele Venters leads the Eastern Washington offense averaging 16.4 points per game on 45.4% shooting. Linton Acliese is second on the team scoring 16.2 points per game and chips in a team leading 7.2 rebounds.
