The CBI Tournament Championship is Wednesday night in Daytona Beach, FL as the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders take on the UNC Wilmington Seahawks. Middle Tennessee comes into the championship game after dominating through the first three rounds following a 16 point win over Abilene Christian in the semifinals on Tuesday night. Middle Tennessee beat Abilene Christian 85-69 after shooting 56.6% the floor at 45.5% from beyond the yard as a team.
Donovan Sims and Elu Lawrence led the way for Middle Tennessee posting a team high 17 points each. Deandre Dishman chipped in 11 points as the third starter in double figures and Tyler Millin added nine points in 23 minutes.
The UNC Wilmington Seahawks made it to the tournament championship following an 80-64 win over Northern Colorado on Tuesday night. UNC Wilmington stifled Northern Colorado holding the bears to 39.7% shooting and 32.3% beyond the arc, law forcing 10 turnovers leading to the victory.
Offensively UNC Wilmington shined making 53.6% of their shots and 41.7% from beyond the arc as Jaylen Sims posted a team high 17 points on seven or twelve shooting in 34 minutes on the floor. Jamahri Harvey added 15 points and Jamarii Thomas scored ten points lead the way off the bench.
