Nicholls State at Saint Mary’s 12/1/20 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

Last Updated: 11/30/2020 at 10:42 PM ET

The last game of the Tuesday night college basketball schedule will feature a matchup between the Nicholls State Colonels and the Saint Mary’s Gaels. Last night, Nicholls State showed plenty of competitive spirit during a 60-49 road loss against California. The Colonels (2-2) missed 40 of their 60 field goal attempts and turned the ball over 18 times in defeat.

Nicholls State F Najee Garvin tallied a team-high 15 points on 7-for-15 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds. Ty Gorfon added 12 points and four rebounds in a losing effort for the Colonels.

The Saint Mary’s Gaels are coming off a 26 win season and would have been a tournament team for veteran head coach Randy Bennett. The Gaels started the 2020 campaign with a loss against Memphis, but have rebounded for consecutive victories. Last time out, Saint Mary’s led from start to finish during a 72-59 victory versus South Dakota State.

Saint Mary’s G Alex Ducas led all scorers with 25 points on 9-for-17 from the field and pulled down eight boards. Matthias Tass chipped in ten points and five rebounds for the Gaels.

California played at one of the slowest tempos in the country last season, so do not look too much into the low scoring game for Nicholls State last night. With the Colonels playing on consecutive nights and against an efficient offense Saint Mary’s squad, take the over on Tuesday. Final Score Prediction, Saint Mary’s win in high scoring over game 80-72.
