The Grand Canyon Antelopes will meet up with the New Mexico State Aggies Friday night in the conference semis of the WAC tournament. Grand Canyon comes into the conference semis after finishing the regular season one game back with the conference lead riding a five game win streak following a five point win over Sam Houston on Thursday. Offensively Grand Canyon controlled the game making 48.1% of their shots and 45% from beyond the arc to score 71 points in the game including 42 in the second half to erase a one point halftime deficit.
Holland Woods carried the Grand Canyon offense posting a team high 24 points in 33 minutes on the floor. Jovan Blackshear added 13 points and four assists, while chance McMillan posted a team leading 12 points in 21 minutes off the bench.
The New Mexico State Aggies come into the conference tournament semifinals after finishing the regular season as the top team overall. New Mexico State finished the regular season with a win after beating Utah Valley 62-46 as the Aggies shot 43.3% from the floor.
Teddy Allen led all scorers for New Mexico State against Utah Valley with twenty points on 7 of 20 shooting in 39 minutes of the floor. Johnny McCants chipped in a second best 11 points and a team leading 13 rebounds in 36 minutes and Yuat Alok provided a spark off the bench with a team high seven points.
