The Nebraska Cornhuskers visit State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois on Saturday for a Big Ten tilt with the Illinois Fighting Illini. The Cornhuskers fell to 13-8 on the season after losing their fourth straight in a 62-51 loss to Wisconsin. The Cornhuskers were without Isaac Copeland who is out injured. The 51 points scored was the lowest by Nebraska this season.
Illinois dropped to 5-13 following its 86-75 loss to Minnesota. The Illini blew out the Golden Gophers on January 16, but this time the tide turned against them. After leading at the half by two points, Illinois was outscored in the second half by 13 points. Trent Frazier led the Illini with 30 points.
James Palmer Jr. leads Nebraska in scoring with an average of 19.1 points per game. Three other Cornhuskers are scoring in double figures. Isaiah Roby leads in rebounding with an average of 6.8 per game. Glynn Watson Jr. is the assists leader with an average of 3.5 per game. The Cornhuskers are shooting 46.1% from the field and 35.6% from 3-point territory.
Trent Frazier leads Illinois in scoring with an average of 14.8 points per game. Ayo Dosunmu is second in scoring and leads in assists with averages of 13.8 points and 3.2 assists per game. Giorgi Bezhanishvili leads the team in rebounds with an average of 4.9 per game. Illinois is shooting 42.6% from the field and 35.2% from 3-point territory.
