College basketball is slated to return in November barring any major outbreaks for the teams or colleges. However, with the early season it is easy to see some teams are emerging as a favorite to win the National Championship for next year. So which team is the odds on favorite to get the title this year and which team should win it? That is the question and one which needs to have some help in getting the explanation for the chance to win.
Villanova is one of the perennial favorites and it is easy to see why with the Wildcats coming out of the Big East. Last year Villanova finished with a 24-7 record and were a favorite to win the title. The Wildcats do have to come up with a replacement for Saddiq Bey who led Villanova in scoring with 16.1 points per game. However, the Wildcats did pick up highly touted Zion Bethea and Tymu Chenery.
Baylor is another basketball team that seems to always improve on the year from one season to the next. Now, Baylor is coming into the season here with Jared Butler coming back for his sophomore year and last year he was able to put in a total of 16 points on the year per game, which will definitely help the Baylor team out.
Gonzaga is one team that has went from being a Cinderella team to one that is now considered a contender each year. The hard part is as the Bulldogs have improved is the WCC has improved as well. This makes it harder for Gonzaga to be seen as a major contender. Look for the Bulldogs, though, to continue to play great this year while replacing Filip Petrusev this year as the leading scorer.
