The Montana Grizzlies open the Big Sky championship tournament Thursday afternoon against the Weber State Wildcats. Montana finished the year terribly losing four of the last five games played including two in a row following a one point loss to Sacramento State to end the season. Offensively Montana shot the ball well against Sacramento State making 48.1% of their shots but turned the ball over eight times in the loss.

Josh Bannan led the way for Montana with 20 points and a team high 15 rebounds in 39 minutes on the floor. Brandon Whitney added eleven points on five of eight shooting and Cameron Parker chipped in a team high 14 points in 25 minutes off the bench.

The Weber State Wildcats finished the regular season in 3rd place in the conference after losing three of the last four games played. Weber State finished the season with an 80-70 loss to Southern Utah after the Thunderbirds shot 49.1% from the floor to score 80 points including 48 in the second half.

Weber State has been an offensive minded team this season averaging 76.7 points per game on 47.5% shooting from the floor. Koby McEwen leads the team averaging 18.2 points per game on 45.6% shooting. Seikou Sisosho Jawara chips in 12.6 points per game to go along with a team leading 3 assists.

This will be the second game of the year between these two teams as Weber State won game one by five points. Both teams come into the conference tournament struggling as each will look to find their footing Thursday night. Look for a back and forth affair between two top five teams in the conference leading to a game that will come down to the wire. Final Score Prediction, Weber State wins but Montana covers 74-72.
