The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders will be in the quarterfinal of the CBI tournament on Monday night in a game against Boston University. Middle Tennessee got to Monday following a six point win over California Baptist. Offensively Middle Tennessee shot the ball extremely well making 45.5% of their shots and 36.4% from beyond the arc to score 64 points in the game including 34 in the second half to erase a one point halftime deficit.
Deandre Dishman led all scorers for Middle Tennessee with 17 points on five of nine shooting in 31 minutes on the floor. Donovan Sims chipped in nine points in 32 minutes, while Camryn Weston and Elias King scored nine points each to lead the way off the bench.
Boston University made it to the second round of the tournament following a victory over UNC Greensboro on Sunday. Boston won 71-68 after shooting 42.6% from the floor and 42.1% from beyond the arc. Sukhamil Mathon led all scorers for Boston with 18 points and a team high 9 rebounds in 31 minutes on the floor.
Offensively this season Boston has three players averaging double figures led by Javante McCoy scoring a team high 17.7 points per game on 50.4% shooting to go along with a team leading three assists per game. Sukhmail Mathon is second on the team scoring 15.1 points to go along with a team high 10.2 rebounds, while Walter Whyte scores 13 points per game as the third player averaging double figures.
