Memphis at East Carolina 1/15/22 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

The Memphis Tigers continue a road trip Thursday afternoon with a visit to Greenville, NC to take on the East Carolina Pirates. Memphis comes into this game 9-6 this season after a 10 point loss to UCF that ended a three game win streak. Offensively Memphis was abysmal against UCF as the Tigers made only 39.7% of their shots and turned the ball over 19 times leading to the loss. Tyler Harris was the leader of the Memphis offense against UCF with 15 points on 511 shooting in 35 minutes on the floor. 

Memphis has been an offensive minded team this season averaging 77.4 points per game on 46.9% shooting as a team. Deondre Williams leads the team with 11.3 points per game on 58.2% shooting. Emoni Bates adds a  second best 11 points and big man Jalen Duren chips in with 10.3 points and a team leading 7.1 rebounds per game. 

The East Carolina Pirates will be back at home on Saturday with ten wins through 15 games played riding a two game losing streak after an 8 point loss in Cincinnati. Defensively East Carolina struggled against Cincinnati as the Bearcats made 47.5% of their shots to score 79 points in the game including 49 in the first half leading to a 20 point halftime lead for Cincinnati. 

Vance Jackson had one of his best games of his career against Cincinnati with 35 points and nine rebounds on 13 of 24 shooting in 37 minutes on the floor to lead East Carolina. Tristen Newton chipped in a second best 11 points on four of 11 shooting, while Javon Small led the way off the bench with seven points.
