The Maryland Terrapins are set to face the LSU Tigers in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament as they will meet at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. The Maryland Terrapins entered the tournament as a 6-seed with a 23-10 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after beating Belmont in the 1st round, 79-77. Jalen Smith led the way for the Maryland Terrapins with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Darryl Morsell contributed 18 points in the win for the Maryland Terrapins.

The LSU Tigers entered the NCAA Tournament as a 3-seed with a 27-6 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after beating the Yale Bulldogs in the 1st round, 79-74. Skylar Mays led the way for the LSU Tigers with 19 points. Kavell Bigby-Williams was able to contribute a double-double for the Tigers as he contributed 10 points and 10 rebounds while also pitching in 4 blocked shots. Anthony Cowan Jr. is the leading scorer and assists guy for the Maryland Terrapins as the junior guard is averaging 16 PPG and 4.3 APG. Both of these teams survived scares in the 1st round of the NCAA Tournament, but overall LSU looked like the better team in Jacksonville. LSU has the right amount of size to counter Smith and Fernando as Bigby-Williams and Reid have proven to be dominating forces inside the paint. LSU also has the advantage with their guard play as Waters and Mays be one of the best duos in college basketball.
