The Marquette Golden Eagles visit Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York on Saturday for a Big East showdown with the St. John's Red Storm in the final game of the regular season for both. Marquette dropped to 18-11 overall and 8-9 in the Big East following it 69-68 loss to the DePaul Blue Demons on Tuesday night. Marquette has lost two straight and five of its last six.

Markus Howard is leading Marquette in scoring with an average of 27.7 points per game, while Jayce Johnson is the leading rebounder with an average of 5.5 per game and Koby McEwen is the leader in assists with an average of 3.3 per game. Marquez has just two players averaging double-figures in scoring.

St John's dropped to 15-15 overall and 4-13 in the Big East following its 77-55 loss to the Butler Bulldogs on Wednesday night. St John's has lost four of its last five and seven of its last nine and has tumbled down the Big East standings to ninth place with DePaul the only team below the Red Storm in the standings.

The leading scorer for St John's is LJ Figueroa with an average of 14.3 points per game, while Julian Champagnie is the leading rebounder with an average of 6.3 per game and Rasheem Dunn is the second-leading scorer and leader in assists with averages of 12.3 points and 3.5 assists per game.

Marquette defeated St John's earlier in the season 82-68 and the same outcome will occur on Saturday. The Golden Eagles are on the bubble as far as the NCAA tournament is concerned and needs to win this final game of the regular season and fare well in the Big East tournament.
