The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs come into the conference tournament Thursday night to take on the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. Louisiana Tech finished the regular season in the top half of the conference despite losing two of the last three games played including a 13 point loss to end the year. Defensively easy on tech was terrible as the Blazers shot 56.1% from the floor and scored 87 points in 40 minutes.
Offensively this season Louisiana Tech has five players averaging double figures led by Kenneth Lofton Jr. posting a team high 16.4 points per game to go along with 10.5 rebounds. Armorie Archibald is second on the team scoring 13.2 points and Keaston Willis chips in a third best 12 points per game on 40.9% shooting.
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers come into the conference tournament running hot after winning four of the last five games played including two in a row in the year. Western Kentucky won their last game of the season 78-69 over Marshall after the Hilltoppers held the Thundering Herd to 39.1% from the floor and forced 15 turnovers in the game.
Offensively this season Western Kentucky has been a stout team scoring 76 points per game 47.1% shooting. Dayvion McKnight is the leader of the Western Kentucky offense scoring 16.1 points per game to go along with a team high 5.7 assists. Camron Justice adds in a second best 14.7 points and Jairus Hamilton score is 13.1 points per game.
