The Conference USA tournament final will take place Saturday night between the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and the UAB Blazers. Louisiana Tech comes into the conference final running hot as of late winners of eight of the last 11 games played including three in a row after a six point win over North Texas. Defensively Louisiana Tech dominated North Texas holding the Mean Green to 36 points on 24.1% shooting and 16.7% from beyond the arc.
For the season Louisiana Tech has been an offensive minded team averaging 76.3 points per game on 46.1% shooting from the floor. Kenneth Lofton Jr. leads Louisiana Tech averaging 16.5 points per game to go along with a team high 10.5 rebounds. The UAB Blazers are on fire coming into the conference turn of it riding a six game win streak after a four point triple overtime win on Friday. UAB beat Middle Tennessee on Friday 102-98 after shooting 43.7% from the floor and 35.5% from beyond the arc. Jordan Walker played the best game of his career with 40 points in 46 minutes of action.
The UAB Blazers have three players averaging double figures as Jordan Walker leads the way scoring 19.5 points per game on 40.1% shooting. Quan Jackson is second on the team with 12 points per game and KJ Buffen scores 10.1 points as the third player in double figures. Trey Jemison Chips in 7.1 points and a team leading 7.5 rebounds.
