Louisiana Tech at UTEP 1/6/22 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will end a long homestand Thursday night with a visit to the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, TX to take on the UTEP Miners. Louisiana Tech comes into this game streaking as of late winners of four of their last five games played including three in a row following a one point home win against Western Kentucky on New Year's Day. Despite offensive struggles Louisiana Tech scored 53 points in the second half against Western Kentucky to erase a 10 point halftime deficit to pick up the victory.

Kenneth Lofton Jr. strapped Louisiana Tech offense to his back scoring a team high 22 points to go along with a team leading 11 rebounds in 36 minutes on the floor. Cobe Williams added 18 points in 29 minutes and Amorie Archibald chipped in 17 points on five of 12 shooting. 

The UTEP Miners return home Thursday night one game above .500 on the year with a 7-6 record overall riding a two game losing streak after a 13 point road loss to UAB. Defensively UTEP was it obliterated by the Blazers as UAB shot 50% from the floor to score 75 total points in the game. 

As a team this season UTEP  has been a below average offensive unit averaging 69.4 points per game on 41% shooting as a team. Keonte Kennedy leads  the UTEP offense with 13.3 points per game to go along with a team high 5.9 rebounds. Jamal Bieniemy is second on the team in scoring with 12.5 points to go along with a team high 3.3 rebounds and Jorell Saterfield chips in 7.8 points per game as well.
