La Salle at George Mason 1/13/21 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

The La Salle Explorers travel on the road to EagleBank Arena to take on the George Mason Patriots. La Salle had a two-game win streak snapped when they fell 83-67 on the road to UMass and dropped to 5-6 on the year. George Mason has lost three in a row, losing to Dayton, VCU, and most recently being thumped 77-57 on their home floor by Richmond. The Patriots dropped to 5-5 on the year. 

La Salle has really struggled offensively averaging 67.6 points per game ranking 267th in the country in scoring defense. The Explorers are shooting 44.5% from the field and are solid from beyond the arc shooting 38.8% from three, the 29th ranked three-point offense in the country.

The Explorers do not have a single-player averaging double-figures and are led in scoring by sophomore guard Jack Clark. Clark leads the team in scoring with 9.6 points and pulls down 5.5 rebounds per game, he’s shooting 40.6% from the field. Freshman guard Jhamir Brickus has been a nice addition, he’s averaging 7.6 points and a team-high 3.8 assists per game. 

George Mason is averaging 69.6 points per game ranking 241st in the country scoring offense. The Patriots are shooting 43% from the field and 31.8% from beyond the arc, both ranking 237th in the nation. Junior guard Jordan Miller leads the way in scoring with 15.1 and is tied for second in assists with 2.1 per game.

Freshman guard Tyler Kolek has been a nice addition for the Patriots averaging 11.3 points and is tied with Miller in assists with 2.1 per game, Kolek is a shooter, knocking down 36.1% of his 7.2 attempts per game. The Patriots are balanced offensively with five players averaging 9+ points per game and return 91.6% of their scoring from last saeson. 

George Mason is allowing 72 points per game ranking 219th in the country in scoring defense, opponents are shooting 43.9% from the field but opposing teams are shooting 38% from beyond the arc, ranking 314th in the country. The Patriots are 132nd in KenPom adjusted defense. La Salle comes in allowing 67.9 points per game on the defensive end ranking 130th in scoring defense with opponents shooting 41.7% from the field. The Explorers are 122nd in KenPom adjusted defense.
