The Kansas State Jayhawks travel on the road to the Lloyd Noble Center to take on the Oklahoma Sooners. Kansas State is not having a good season at all, having lost four straight and their earlier loss to D2 Fort Hayes State. In their last timeout, Kansas State lost by 15 on the road at Texas to fall to 5-9 on the year. Oklahoma snapped a two-game losing streak and took advantage of an inferior TCU team, winning 82-46 to improve to 7-4 on the year.

Oklahoma is averaging 77.8 points per game ranking 78th in scoring offense and with all the returning scoring production that really comes as no surprise. The Sooners are returning 71.2% of their scoring from last year including two star seniors in Austin Reaves and Brady Manek.

Reaves is a lengthy point guard who does everything for this Oklahoma team and leads the team in scoring with 15.8, rebounding with 5.4, and assists with 5.2 per game. After transferring from Wichita State following his sophomore season he’s been a key player for the Sooners since. Manek, the 6’9 power forward is averaging 13.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game,

Kansas State’s struggles have started on the defensive end allowing 65.5 points per game ranking 293rd in teh country in scoring defense. The Wildcats have shot 43.4% from the field and struggled from three shooting 31.2% from beyond the arc, the 259th three-point shooting offense in the nation.

The Wildcats are led by senior guard Mike McGuirl, he’s one of the three players averaging double-figures this season for Kansas State, averaging 12.4 points and a team-high 3.7 assists per game. Sophomore guard Dajaun Gordon is second on the team in scoring with 10.5 and is pulling down a team-high 6.7 rebounds per game.

Kansas State is allowing 72 points per game ranking 223rd in the country in scoring defense, opposing teams are shooting 48.2% from the field, the 334th defensive field-goal percentage in the country. Kansas State is 174th in KenPom adjusted defense. Oklahoma is allowing 68.4 points per game ranking 128th in the country in scoring defense and 49th in KenPom adjusted defense.

Oklahoma had a tough end to the month of December playing what could end up being the top-4 teams in the Big 12. Coming off a dominant win over TCU, Oklahoma rides that momentum with their second straight win and dominates a bad Oklahoma team. Kansas State has been a terrible team all season long and unfortunately for them that continues with a road loss to Oklahoma. FInal score prediction, Oklahoma wins and covers ATS 78-63.
