The No. 25 ranked Iowa Hawkeyes visit Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Indiana on Thursday for a Big Ten showdown against the Purdue Boilermakers. The Hawkeyes improved to 11-2 on the season following a 72-67 win over Bryant. The Hawkeyes were led by Tyler Cook with 19 points and 12 rebounds. The Hawkeyes played poorly against a far less talented Bryant, but came out on top.
Purdue improved to 8-5 with a 73-62 win over Belmont on Saturday as Carsen Edwards led the Boilermakers with 24 points and Matt Haarms scored 12. Purdue’s defense stepped up its game as it held the Bruins to a season low of 62 points, which is 25 points below Belmont’s season average.
Tyler Cook leads Iowa in scoring and rebounding with averages of 16.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Luka Garza is the second leading scorer with an average of 12.7 points per game. Connor McCaffery leads the Hawkeyes in assists with an average of 3.3 per game. Iowa is shooting 47.2% from the field and 35.5% from 3-point territory.
Carsen Edwards leads Purdue in scoring with an average of 25.8 points per game. Matt Haarms is the leading rebounder with an average of 4.7 per game, while Edwards leads the team in assists with an average of 3.5 per game. Purdue is shooting 45.6% from the field and 37.2% from 3-point territory.
