The Iowa Hawkeyes are set to visit Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa for a non-conference clash against the Iowa State Cyclones. The Iowa Hawkeyes come into this matchup with a 7-3 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers, 72-52. Leading the way for the Iowa Hawkeyes was sophomore guard Joe Wieskamp as he recorded 23 points and 6 rebounds. Junior center Luka Garza had a productive outing for the Hawkeyes with 21 points and 10 rebounds.

The Iowa Hawkeyes had a solid shooting game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers as they connected on 26 of their 61 field goal attempts (42.6%), and they were good from behind the three-point line (47.6%). The Iowa Hawkeyes won the turnover battle against the Minnesota Golden Gophers (15-8), but they were even with the Golden Gophers in the rebounding department (38-38).

The Iowa State Cyclones come into this matchup with a 6-3 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the Seton Hall Pirates, 76-66. Leading the way for the Iowa State Cyclones was sophomore guard Rasir Bolton as he recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds. Joining Bolton in the backcourt was sophomore guard Tyrese Haliburton who had a productive outing for the Cyclones with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.

The Iowa State Cyclones struggled shooting the ball against the Seton Hall Pirates as they connected on 23 of their 60 field goal attempts (38.3%), and they were significantly worse from behind the three-point line (21.1%). The Iowa State Cyclones won the turnover battle against the Seton Hall Pirates (20-16), but they edged out the Pirates in the rebounding department (43-40).

Iowa State and Iowa will meet in their annual in-state rivalry game, and we should expect fireworks as both teams are enjoying good seasons. I will give the Cyclones the slight advantage on their home-court as they have been one of the top-scoring teams in the country (82 PPG) which is in part to their backcourt. The Cyclones have the far superior guards in this matchup as Tyrese Haliburton is averaging 16.2 PPG, 8.2 APG, and 6 RPG while Rasir Bolton is pitching in 15.3 PPG, and I expect them to control the pace of this game. Iowa has one of the best centers in college basketball with Luka Garza, and I expect the Hawkeyes to play through the junior, but Iowa State has length with George Conditt IV which could affect Garza. Hilton Coliseum will be rocking in favor of the Cyclones, and I believe it will help lift Iowa State to a win. Final Score Prediction, Iowa State Cyclones win and cover ATS 76-70.
