The UIC Flames are set to visit Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, Indiana for a Horizon League clash against the IUPUI Jaguars. The UIC Flames come into this matchup with a 7-12 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the Wright State Raiders, 76-72. Leading the way for the UIC Flames was junior forward Michael Diggins as he recorded 20 points and 4 rebounds. Joining Diggins in the frontcourt was senior forward Jordan Blount who had a productive outing for the Flames as he pitched in 16 points and 5 rebounds.

The UIC Flames had a good shooting game against the Wright State Raiders as they connected on 29 of their 59 field goal attempts (49.2%), but they were significantly worse from behind the three-point line (27.3%). The UIC Flames lost the turnover battle against the Wright State Raiders (19-13), but they edged out the Raiders in the rebounding department (41-39).

The IUPUI Jaguars come into this matchup with a 5-14 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent home game against the Northern Kentucky Norse, 96-71. Leading the way for the IUPUI Jaguars was junior guard Marcus Burk as he recorded 25 points and 3 rebounds. Joining Burk in the backcourt was junior guard Grant Weatherford who had a productive outing for the Jaguars with 12 points and 8 rebounds.

The IUPUI Jaguars struggled shooting the ball against the Northern Kentucky Norse as they connected on 24 of their 63 field goal attempts (38.1%), and they were significantly worse from behind the three-point line (19%). The IUPUI Jaguars were even with the Northern Kentucky Norse in the turnover battle (10-10), but they were edged out by the Norse in the rebounding department (39-37).

The UIC Flames haven’t had a good season as they bring a 7-12 record into this matchup, but they are coming off a season altering win over arguably the top team in the Horizon as they beat Wright State. The IUPUI Jaguars have really struggled this season as they are sitting at 5-14, and the majority of their problems have been on the defensive side of the court as they are allowing an average of 77.7 PPG. The Flames have an experienced backcourt with Tarkus Ferguson (14.3 PPG and 4.8 APG) and Godwin Boahen (10.4 PPG), and I expect them to once again take over this game. IUPUI hasn’t had much of a problem scoring in conference play, but they will be going against a UIC team that ranks 3rd in the Horizon League in points allowed. Final Score Prediction, UIC Flames win and cover ATS 74-69.
