The Houston Cougars square off with the Villanova Wildcats Saturday night in Dallas, TX for an Elite 8 matchup. Houston comes into the elite 8 on a tear riding a six game win streak following a double digit victory over Arizona on Thursday. Defensively Houston was dominant against Arizona holding the Wildcats to 33.3% from the floor and 31.8% from beyond the arc leading to the win.

Offensively Jamal Shead led the way for the Houston offense posting a team high 21 points on five of 16 shooting in 38 minutes on the floor. Kyler Edwards added a second best 19 points in 38 minutes and big man Josh Carlton chipped in 10 points and a team high 7 rebounds.

The Villanova Wildcats come into the elite eight as one of the highest seeds remaining in the tournament writing an 8 game win streak. Villanova beat Michigan 63-55 in the sweet 16 after holding Michigan to 34.4% shooting and 33.3% from beyond the arc.
