The Grand Canyon Antelopes are set to travel to WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, West Virginia for the 1st round of the CBI Tournament as they will face the West Virginia Mountaineers. The Grand Canyon Antelopes enter the tournament with a 20-13 record, and they will be looking to respond after losing in the WAC championship to New Mexico State, 89-57. Alessandro Lever led the way for the Antelopes with 17 points. Trey Dreschel had a solid game off the bench for Grand Canyon as he contributed 9 points and 7 rebounds.

The West Virginia Mountaineers enter the CBI Tournament with a 14-20 record, and they will be looking to rebound after losing in the Big 12 semifinal round to the Kansas Jayhawks, 88-74. The West Virginia Mountaineers have been through a roller coaster of emotions this season, but they are playing some really good basketball as of recent. The win over Texas Tech in the Big 12 Tournament was easily the high of this season, and that may have been what this young team needed moving forward. Grand Canyon isn’t a joke by any standards, but the talent level of Derek Culver and Jordan McCabe is unmatched.
