Grambling at UT Rio Grande 3/20/19 - CBB Picks & Predictions

Grambling is coming into the game after falling short by 10 points against the Prairie View squad on Friday. However, the season did not end for the Tigers as they were invited to the tournament here. Now, the Tigers will be facing UT Rio Grande and that is going to be a challenging game for the Tigers in the game here as they are a team that has had some struggles at various points of the season.

Ivy Smith Jr. was the leader for the Tigers with 13.3 points a game and 4.7 assist a game. Alex Mpoyo was the leading rebounder for the Tigers as he managed to get 5.6 boards a game on the season. The offense of Grambling State was able to get 71.3 points a game, but the defense only allowed 68.5 points a game. The Vaqueros are heading into this game after finishing in the middle of the pack for the WAC. However, the Vaqueros were bounced early in their conference tournament as they lost to New Mexico State by a 79-72 score and that was definitely something the team would have liked to avoid, but the team did look decent against other teams that had the same level of talent.

Terry Winn III led the Vaqueros in scoring at 12.6 points a game. When it comes to assists the Vaqueros have relied on Javon Levi who has 5.5 assist a game, but rebounding was handled by Lesley Varner II with 5.3 boards a game. This season UT Rio Grand scored 70.7 points a game, but allowed 70.2 points a game.

The Vaqueros are playing decent on the season, but are facing a very stiff defense from the Tigers here. The defense of the Tigers is what will make the difference in this game as the defense brings home the win in this game rather easily. Final Score Prediction, Grambling State Tigers win, but grab the points 72-70.
