The Georgia Bulldogs visit McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday to play the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Georgia improved to 6-4 on the season with an 81-69 win over Oakland on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs were led by Nicolas Claxton and Rayshaun Hammonds with 17 points each, while Teshaun Hightower scored 16 in the balanced offensive attack for the Bulldogs.
Jose Alvarado scored 20 points to help lead the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to a 69-65 win over Arkansas improving Georgia Tech to 6-4 on the season. The Yellow Jackets were successful in staving off a late surge by the Razorbacks to grab the upset win. Georgia Tech has now won two of its last three overall.
Rayshaun Hammonds leads the Bulldogs in scoring with an average of 15.1 points per game. Two other Bulldogs are scoring in double figures. Nicolas Claxton leads Georgia in rebounds with an average of 9.8 per game and is the team leader in assists with an average of 2.3 per game. Georgia is shooting 47.5% from the field and 34.7% from 3-point territory.
Jose Alvarado leads Georgia Tech in scoring and assists with averages of 14.2 points and 2.8 assists per game. Brandon Alston is the only other player for Georgia Tech averaging double figures in scoring at 10.6 points per game. James Banks III leads in rebounding with an average of 9.3 per game. Georgia Tech is shooting 44.3% from the field and 30.7% from 3-point territory.
