On Thursday, the Florida Atlantic (FAU) Owls visit Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Alabama to play the Alabama Birmingham (UAB) Blazers in a Conference-USA showdown. The Owls improved to 9-4 on the season with an upset on Saturday of Illinois 73-71 in overtime. Anthony Adger led the Owls with 27 points. This will be FAU’s first game in the C-USA this season.
UAB improved to 8-5 on the season following its 75-67 win on Saturday over Division-II Arkansas Monticello. Jalen Perry led the Blazers with 23 points to help the Blazers bounce back from their first loss at home this season. UAB will also be opening its C-USA schedule with its game against FAU.
Anthony Adger leads FAU in scoring with an average of 14.8 points per game. Two other players for the Owls are averaging double figures in scoring. Michael Forrest leads the Owls in assists with an average of 3.2 per game, while Xavian Stapleton is the leading rebounder with an average of 5.9 per game. FAU is shooting 42.2% from the field and 30.80% from 3-point territory.
Zack Bryant leads UAB in scoring and assists with averages of 13.2 points and 3.6 assists per game. Lewis Sullivan is the third leading scorer and leads the Blazers in rebounding with averages of 10.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. UAB is shooting 45.8% from the field and 31.7% from 3-point territory.
