Elon at West Virginia 11/18/21 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

The West Virginia Mountaineers get set for their next game on Thursday against the Elon Phoenix. West Virginia has started their season off with a 2-0 record. The Mountaineers beat Pittsburgh in their last game 74-59. Jalen Bridges led the way in the win with 18 points and 6 rebounds. 

The Mountaineers defense has been their strong suit through their first two games. West Virginia has not allowed more than 59 points in each game. Taz Sherman leads the team after two games played with an average of 17.5 points per game. Sherman also leads the team with an average of 4.5 rebounds per game. 

Elon is 2-1 on the season as they get set to take on their toughest test yet.  The Elon Phoenix have won two straight games after losing their season opener. The Phoenix beat Bluefield College in their last game 89-72. Zac Ervin led the team with 29 points and 8 rebounds in the win. 

The Phoenix have three players who are averaging more than 12 points per game. Elon ranks 30th in the nation with hitting just over 40% of their three pointers. The Phoenix only loss this season came against a good Florida Gators team. Team leader Zac Ervin was held to just 3 points in the loss.
