The Eastern Washington Eagles visit the Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Oklahoma on Sunday to play the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Eastern Washington defeated Washington State 81-74 in the first round of the NIT on Tuesday. Steele Venters was the leading scorer for Eastern Washington with 27 points and Venters’ three pointer with only 16 seconds to play sealed the victory for the Eagles.
Steele Venters is leading Eastern Washington in scoring with an average of 15.7 points per game, while Casey Jones is the leading rebounder with an average of 5.8 rebounds per game and Tyreese Davis is the leader in assists with an average of 3.5 assists per game. Eastern Washington has three players that average double figures in scoring and as a team scores an average of 77.1 points per game.
Oklahoma State defeated Youngstown State 69-64 in the first round of the NIT on Wednesday night behind 13 points from Tyreek Smith. Smith also collected a team high 12 rebounds in the victory. Oklahoma State was defeated in his final game of the regular season by Texas in the Big 12 tournament but has now won three of its last four.
Bryce Thompson is the leading scorer and leader in assists for Oklahoma State with averages of 11.7 points and 2.6 assists per game, while Moussa Cisse is the leading rebounder with an average of 8.0 rebounds per game.
