Duke vs. North Carolina 4/2/22 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

The No. 8 seeded North Carolina Tar Heels play the No. 2 seeded Duke Blue Devils on Saturday in the Final Four at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. North Carolina ended the Cinderella-story of Saint Peter’s on Sunday with a 69-49 victory in the final of the East Region. The Tar Heels were led by Armando Bacot with 20 points. North Carolina's defense held the Peacocks to 30.0% shooting and outrebounded Saint Peter’s 49-33. North Carolina defeated Marquette, Baylor and UCLA prior to winning the East Region by defeating Saint Peter’s.

Armando Bacot is leading North Carolina in scoring and rebounding with averages of 16.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. Caleb Love is the second leading scorer with an average of 15.7 points per game. R.J. Davis is the leader in assists with an average of 3.7 assists per game. Four players for North Carolina are averaging double-figures in scoring and as a team the Tar Heels are scoring an average of 77.5 points per game.

Duke punched its ticket to the Final Four by defeating the Arkansas Razorbacks 78-69 on Saturday to win the West Region final in the Elite 8. AJ Griffin was the leading scorer for Duke with 18 points. The Blue Devils held Arkansas to 41.9% shooting while out-rebounding the Razorbacks 34-25. Duke has defeated CSU Fullerton, Michigan State, Texas Tech and Arkansas to reach the Final Four.

Paolo Banchero is leading Duke in scoring and rebounding with averages of 17.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per game, while Wendell Moore Jr is the second leading scorer and the leader in assists with averages of 13.5 points and 4.4 assists per game. Five players for Duke are averaging double-figures in scoring and the Blue Devils are scoring an average of 80.2 points per game. Duke is shooting 48.9% overall and 36.8% from 3-point territory.

These two split the regular season meetings 1-1 straight up and against the spread and the one common theme in the two matchups was the OVER. In the two meetings between the two the OVER cashed both times as the two combined to score 154 points in the first meeting and 175 points in the second. The OVER has cashed in five of the last seven that North Carolina has played as the dog and in eight of the last 10 that Duke has played as chalk. Duke will pick up a victory over North Carolina on Saturday, but the play here is OVER. Final Score Prediction, Duke Blue Devils win but our best play is OVER 82-77.
