The No. 1 ranked Duke Blue Devils visit Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Tuesday for an ACC clash with the Pittsburgh Panthers. The Blue Devils improved to 16-2 on the season following a 72-70 win over Virginia. Duke was led by freshmen sensations RJ Barrett with 30 points and Zion Williamson with 27.
Pittsburgh fell to 12-6 on the season following its 74-63 loss on the road to Syracuse on Saturday. The Panthers shot just 33.8% from the field and attempted 35 shots from 3-point territory against the Orange zone. Pittsburgh has now lost 17 straight road games and last won on the road almost two years ago at Boston College.
RJ Barrett leads Duke in scoring and is second in assists with averages of 23.8 points and 4.1 assists per game. Zion Williamson is the second leading scorer and leading rebounder with averages of 21.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Tre Jones leads the Blue Devils in assists with an average of 5.7 per game. Duke is shooting 48.9% from the field and 31.2% from 3-point territory.
Xavier Johnson leads Pitt in scoring and assists with averages of 17.1 points and 4.6 assists per game. Trey McGowens is the second leading scorer with an average of 13.9 points per game. Au’Diese Toney leads the Panthers in rebounding with an average of 6.2. Pitt as a team is shooting 44.4% from the field and 33.8% from 3-point territory.
