The Drake Bulldogs are set to visit University of Dayton Arena in Dayton, Ohio for a non-conference clash against the Dayton Flyers. The Drake Bulldogs come into this matchup with an 8-2 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the SE Missouri State Redhawks, 78-73. Leading the way for the Drake Bulldogs was sophomore guard Roman Penn as he recorded 16 points and 8 rebounds. Joining Penn in the backcourt was sophomore guard D.J. Wilkins who had a productive outing for the Bulldogs with 15 points.

The Drake Bulldogs had a good shooting game against the SE Missouri State Redhawks as they connected on 24 of their 51 field goal attempts (47.1%), but they were significantly worse from behind the three-point line (26.1%). The Drake Bulldogs won the turnover battle against the SE Missouri State Redhawks (18-10), but they were edged out by the Redhawks in the rebounding department (36-29).

The Dayton Flyers come into this matchup with a 7-1 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent game against the Saint Mary’s Gaels, 78-68. Leading the way for the Dayton Flyers was junior guard Jalen Crutcher as he recorded 21 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds. Sophomore forward Obi Toppin had a productive outing for the Flyers as he pitched in 16 points and 6 rebounds.

The Dayton Flyers had a good shooting game against the Saint Mary’s Gaels as they connected on 28 of their 52 field goal attempts (53.8%), and they were slightly better from behind the three-point line (54.2%). The Dayton Flyers lost the turnover battle against the Saint Mary’s Gaels (16-12), but they edged out the Gaels in the rebounding department (33-25).

The Dayton Flyers have been amazing this season as their lone loss came in OT against arguably the best team in the country (Kansas), and they should continue their dominant ways against Drake. The Flyers have had no problems scoring the basketball this season as they rank 2nd in the NCAA in points scored with 87.4 PPG, and that spells bad news for Drake as they are scoring an average of 70.8 PPG. Dayton has a future 1st-round pick in Obi Toppin (21.4 PPG and 8.3 RPG), and there aren’t many guys in college basketball who pose a good matchup to the sophomore forward. The Drake Bulldogs don’t have much length outside of 7-foot center Liam Robbins, and they will struggle to contain a Dayton team that starts 4 guys over 6’5. Dayton should have little problems dominating the Drake Bulldogs at home. Final Score Prediction, Dayton Flyers win and cover ATS 77-54.
